Where Work Meets Glamour |
An Exciting Shophouse Workspace
BNF was one of our previous clients, for whom we designed and built a project during the COVID period. They have returned to us for a new venture, this time in a heritage shophouse spanning approximately 2,500 square feet across two floors. Collaborating closely with BNF and their stylist, we co-created a space that not only serves as a functional office but also offers an environment where users can unwind—a perfect blend of work and play!

The shophouse unit comes fitted with elegant finishes in wood, stone, and bronze, which we seamlessly extend throughout the entire office design. Upon exiting the lift, users are welcomed by a semi-private boardroom, perfectly positioned for guest access. The see-through glass and wooden sliding screens allow natural light to flow in from the back windows while providing privacy without fully obstructing the view from inside/outside.
Since the boardroom lacks natural light, it features fully transparent glass panels to create a spacious feel. Fluted panels diffuse the light while providing some privacy during meetings. Carefully selected ambient lighting sets various moods. The room also includes bi-fold doors, making the space versatile for meetings and small gatherings when hosting clients or company events.
The client was inspired by the design of the Artyzen Hotel Singapore, which influenced various elements of the boardroom, including the lighting, furniture and wall design. Collaborating with the stylist, we created this art deco acoustic wall that seamlessly blends functionality with glamour and elegance.
Outside the boardroom, custom display shelves are beautifully crafted and supported by brass rods and fittings, perfectly complementing the luxurious aesthetic of the space. These display shelves are ideal for showcasing clients' art pieces or awards, enhancing the overall ambiance and adding a personal touch to the space.
Nestled behind the boardroom is an inviting mezzanine area that includes the director's room and a charming lounge space, complete with an island counter table and a hanging wine rack. This extended area, adjacent to the pantry, provides an ideal setting for casual conversations and refreshments.
The custom-designed counter table features elegantly curved edges and round fluted panelling, topped with a quartz surface and accented by brass edging that harmonizes beautifully with the brass rod display above. It also incorporates thoughtfully designed drawers and side cabinets, offering ample storage space and a convenient internal dustbin.
At the far end of the mezzanine, you’ll discover the back of the house, which features the pantry and restroom area. The restroom hallway is enhanced with stylish details, including wall lighting, vibrant plants, and a brass-framed mirror with backlighting, along with charming rattan wall decor.
The second floor features a bright and airy work area that blends simplicity with warmth. A cozy gaming nook has been designed in, complete with PlayStation controllers, inviting users to take a break and unwind.
Other relaxation spots include a silence capsule tucked behind the elevator and an open balcony, perfect for basking in the sun. Our successful collaboration has created a functional office that blends work and relaxation, offering a private yet inviting space where glamour meets productivity.
